Connect, Grow, and Serve.

Connect, Grow and Serve is the Mission Statement of Ortega Church. When we serve others, we serve the Lord. We believe that our being in mission together is a great way to deepen our faith, connect as a faith community, and connect to the community we seek to serve. Family Promise

Family Promise of Jacksonville is a non-profit, interfaith hospitality network providing temporary shelter, meals, hospitality and case management for families experiencing homelessness.   Family Promise works with homeless families to tailor individualized plans and help them take the necessary steps toward lasting independence.

Ortega Church is one of 17 hosting congregations in the Jacksonville network who provides meals, hospitality, and overnight accommodations for one week on a rotating basis. How you can get involved:

  • Prepare and serve meals on an evening of our Host Week
  • Volunteer for a Day Host at the church on a Saturday or Sunday
  • Volunteer as an Overnight Host at the church from 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.

June Mission Outreach: Family Promise is in urgent need for personal items and cleaning supplies – their shelves are literally empty! Your donations will stabilize families facing the challenges of homelessness as families stretch their dollars for rent, utilities and other daily needs.

Donations can be brought to the Narthex and placed on the ministry table. The Family Promise Amazon Wish List can be found here:
